Woodbine ready for 2024 season with new In-field Video Board, Event Space

TORONTO, April 24, 2024 – With opening day of the 2024 Thoroughbred season set for this Saturday, Woodbine Entertainment will debut a new infield LED video board at Woodbine Racetrack to enhance the in-venue experience for all guests.

“Horse racing has such incredible visuals and data and with this new state-of-the-art video board, we will now have the opportunity to truly leverage that and deliver an incredible experience for our guests at the racetrack,” said David Vivenes, Executive Vice President of Brand and Experience for Woodbine Entertainment.

Construction on the infield video board began shortly after the conclusion of the 2023 live racing season in December.

The new infield LED video board will be a noticeable change for fans and horseplayers, coming in 20 per cent larger and displaying a 60 per cent higher resolution than the previous board.

Unlike the previous infield three screen structure, the new infield LED video board will have one continuous board that allows for customizable segmentation of the entire “screen canvas”. The new board will provide the opportunity to use the entire screen to display one feed or the potential of 12 different inputs configured into various shapes and sizes.

Woodbine will use of the new infield video board for a variety of functions, including displaying live video, handicapping data and fan engagements.

NEW EVENT SPACE – TURF LOUNGE

The infield video board is not the only renovation that took place over the winter months, as Woodbine is pleased to introduce the new Turf Lounge.

Woodbine has taken the former Favourites Dining Room and overhauled it to create the brand-new Turf Lounge. The Turf Lounge is a unique event space that overlooks the finish line with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a panoramic view of the racetrack.

The Turf Lounge has three levels of tiered seating, a flexible event space at the top, plus a private outdoor balcony with standing room. The Turf Lounge can host up to 300 guests and includes a newly built custom bar that provides dedicated beverage service to compliment your meal or event.

The Turf Lounge will host Woodbine’s annual Derby Day Party on Saturday, May 4. To purchase tickets, click here.
