167th King’s Plate set for Saturday, August 15

TORONTO, February 18, 2026 – Woodbine Entertainment today announced that the 167th running of The King’s Plate will take place on Saturday, August 15 at Woodbine Racetrack.

Steeped in royal history, The King’s Plate is Canada’s most prestigious horse race and the first leg of the Canadian Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing. The iconic Plate is North America’s oldest continuously race stakes race and is contested for a purse of $1 million.

Known as one of Toronto’s can’t-miss summer events, The King’s Plate celebrates world class horse racing, fashion, food, entertainment and more, all on one memorable day at Woodbine Racetrack.

Tickets for The King’s Plate will go on sale on Friday, March 6.
