TORONTO, April 26, 2026— Arbiter delivered a commanding performance Sunday at Woodbine, drawing off to a six-length victory in the $125,000 Woodstock Stakes.
The six-furlong Main Track event for three-year-olds went to post with a field of four. Sent off as the 6-5 second choice, Arbiter, under Pietro Moran, assumed command shortly after the break and settled comfortably on the lead through an opening quarter in :23.08. Two Out Hero tracked in second, followed by Silver Is Best and El Capo.
Two Out Hero, ridden by Rafael Hernandez, made a bid at the half, drawing alongside Arbiter as the field turned for home. Arbiter quickly responded, turning back the challenge and opening up down the stretch.
Arbiter drew off down the lane to score by six lengths. Silver Is Best was second, El Capo finished third, and Two Out Hero completed the order of finish. Gnome was scratched.
The final time was 1:10.31.
Trained by Wesley Ward for Resolution Road Stables, Arbiter improved his record to three wins from four starts. The son of Charlatan broke his maiden at Churchill Downs on November 30 and followed with a win at Turfway Park on December 17. He most recently finished seventh in the Texas Glitter Stakes at Gulfstream Park on March 21.
The victory marked the first local stakes win of the Woodbine season for recent Sovereign Award winner Pietro Moran.
“He was cruising along pretty easy," said Moran. "And I knew Rafi [Hernandez] was there and he was gonna make a move, but he just kept fine. He got away so easy. Today was all about Arbiter.”
Arbiter was bred in Kentucky by Hunter Valley Farm, Richie Galway, Frank Hutchinson, and Lynch Bages Ltd., and paid $4.70 to win.
