Massive mandatory payout looms for December 23 at Woodbine Mohawk Park

Jackpot Hi-5 carryover sits at over $450,000

MILTON, December 14, 2021 – Woodbine Entertainment today announced a mandatory payout on the Standardbred Jackpot Hi-5 will be offered on Thursday, December 23 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

The Jackpot Hi-5 carryover currently sits at $454,917.91 following Monday evening’s (December 13) card of racing.

Horseplayers will have one final opportunity to hit the entire jackpot before the pre-Christmas mandatory payout, as the wager will be suspended following this Thursday’s (December 16) card in preparation for December 23.

The pre-Christmas Jackpot Hi-5 mandatory payout has become a tradition over the last several years at Woodbine, generating large pools and strong payouts just in time for the holidays.

The Jackpot Hi-5 requires horseplayers to select the top-five finishers in order. A horseplayer can only win the entire jackpot if they hold the only winning ticket for that evening’s wager. If there are multiple winning tickets, half the pool is paid out, while the other half is added to the carryover.

A mandatory payout will see the entire carryover, plus new money wagered, paid out to all those that correctly select the top-five finishers in order. The Jackpot Hi-5 has a $0.20 minimum and a 15 per cent takeout.

Live racing continues every Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Post time is 7 p.m.
