MEDIA ADVISORY: Meet The King’s Plate Horses Tomorrow at Woodbine

TORONTO, August 10, 2026 – Woodbine Entertainment is pleased to invite media members to Woodbine Racetrack tomorrow (Tuesday, August 11) to meet horses competing in this Saturday’s (August 15) $1 million 167th King’s Plate.
The King’s Plate is North America’s oldest continuously run stakes race and a Canadian sporting tradition. Thrilling racing action will collide with fashion and entertainment for one of Toronto’s biggest social events of the year.
Tuesday morning Woodbine will be holding The King’s Plate Position Draw and Breakfast. Representatives for all the horses competing will be on hand to determine each horses starting spot in the big race.
As part of the event, several of The King’s Plate horses will be parading in front of media and guests in the Woodbine walking ring around 11 a.m. Media is invited to take photos, videos and conduct interviews with participants.
Woodbine’s Communications team will be happy to assist with arranging interviews.
Media looking to attend the entire Post Position Draw and Breakfast are advised to arrive by 10 a.m., while those coming to meet the horses are asked to arrive by 11 a.m.
