Woodbine issues update on Friday Training and Workouts

Decision on live racing to be made by 8 a.m. Friday

TORONTO, June 8, 2023 – Woodbine Entertainment has announced that training and workouts will resume on Friday morning at Woodbine Racetrack.

With the forecasted air quality for Friday morning expected to improve and categorized as ‘moderate-risk’ by Environment Canada, Woodbine’s facilities will be open and training and timed workouts will be permitted.

This decision is consistent with the advice Woodbine has received from veterinarians, medical practitioners, and other racing officials including the AGCO who distributed Air Quality guidelines yesterday.

Thursday’s forecast for Toronto, Ontario continues to read ‘high-risk’ air quality and live racing for this evening remains cancelled.

This situation is very fluid, and Woodbine will continue to provide updates and decisions in a timely manner.

A decision on Friday’s live racing card will be made by 8 a.m. tomorrow morning (June 9).
