Woodbine Mohawk Park cancels Friday card due to poor air quality

MILTON, June 23, 2023 – Woodbine Entertainment has announced tonight’s card of live racing at Woodbine Mohawk Park is cancelled due to poor air quality.

Environment Canada’s air quality index for Milton is listed as ‘High Risk’ and expected to remain at this level into Friday night. Woodbine’s decision to cancel comes through consultation with the Central Ontario Standardbred Association (COSA) and is consistent with the AGCO air quality guidelines

Woodbine's top priority is the health and safety of its equine athletes and racing participants.

The Ontario Sires Stakes Gold event for three-year-old trotting fillies scheduled for Friday has now been postponed to Thursday (July 6).

Live racing is scheduled to resume on Saturday evening at 7 p.m.

Woodbine will continue to monitor the conditions and provide further updates as required.
