Woodbine releases Turf Champions Day nominations

TORONTO, August 29, 2025 – Woodbine Entertainment today released the nominations for its upcoming Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series “Win And You’re In” races on Saturday, September 13 at Woodbine Racetrack.

The Grade 1 Rogers Woodbine Mile, Grade 1 Johnnie Walker Natalma Stakes and Grade 1 bet365 Summer Stakes make up Woodbine’s prestigious Turf Champions Day.

The 29th edition of the $1 million Rogers Woodbine Mile has attracted 18 nominees.

Trainer Mark Casse leads all trainers with three nominees, including last year’s winner Win for the Money. Casse has won the Woodbine Mile three-times.

Godolphin and trainer Charlie Appleby, who won the race back-to-back in 2022 and 2023, have nominated Notable Speech (GB) and First Conquest (GB).

The Johnnie Walker Natalma and bet365 Summer, both for two-year-olds, are each run at 1 mile for a purse of $500,000.

A total of 22 two-year-old fillies have been nominated to the Johnnie Walker Natalma, while the bet365 Summer Stakes received 16 nominees.

All three Grade 1 races on Turf Champions Day will be run on Woodbine’s bet365 Inner Turf Course.
