Woodbine surpasses $1 Billion in All-Sources Handle for 2022

TORONTO, December 15, 2022 – As part of a record breaking 2022 season between Woodbine Racetrack and Woodbine Mohawk Park, Woodbine Entertainment recently surpassed $1 billion in all-sources wagering for the first time in its storied history.

The recently concluded Woodbine Thoroughbred meet generated $621 million in all-sources handle, while the Woodbine Standardbred meet has pulled in $424 million in all-sources handle with 10 cards remaining in the season.

Noted earlier this week, the Woodbine Thoroughbred meet set a new record for all-sources handle, smashing the previous mark of $533 million in 2018. The Woodbine Standardbred meet has also established a new record, blowing by the previous high of $364 million set in 2019.

“We are very proud of the successes this season at both Woodbine and Woodbine Mohawk Park,” said Jim Lawson, CEO of Woodbine Entertainment. “To post record handles at both racetracks in the same seasons speaks volumes to the strength of the Woodbine brand and our continued evolution over recent years.

“Surpassing $1 billion in total handle is a great number and there are many groups within in our organization that deserve recognition, including our Racing and Wagering teams.”

The previous combined handle record for a calendar year at Woodbine Entertainment was $880 million in 2019.

The 2022 Woodbine Standardbred meet continues through December 31, 2022.

The 2023 Woodbine Thoroughbred meet is scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 22.
