Woodbine to host Aftercare Day October 4

TORONTO, September 30, 2025— Woodbine Entertainment is proud to host its fifth annual Woodbine Aftercare Day for Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance works to accredit, inspect, and award grants to approved North American organizations that retrain, retire, and rehome Thoroughbreds who have finished their racing careers.
Woodbine’s local accredited organization is LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society, located in Hillsburgh Ontario.
Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance is the named presenter of the Grade 2 Nearctic Stakes, and will present Best Turned-Out Horse Awards, sponsored by Josham Farms Limited, for all stakes races on Saturday.
This Saturday’s race card also features the Grade 1 Canadian International and the Grade 2 bet356 Dance Smartly Stakes.
Throughout the day, jockeys and valets can choose to donate a portion of their purse earnings to Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
“Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance is grateful to Woodbine for their commitment to accredited aftercare,” said Stacie Clark-Rogers, Operations Consultant for Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance. “Dedicating a day to aftercare, with on-site engagement, Best Turned-Out Horse Awards, and a named race, provides an impactful platform to highlight this important cause.”
On Saturday, Woodbine Entertainment will make a charitable donation to the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance. This presentation and contribution are part of Woodbine’s ongoing commitment to equine welfare on and off the track.
