Woodbine to increase Claiming Prices

MILTON, November 1, 2023 – Woodbine Entertainment today announced an increase on Claiming Prices beginning December 1, 2023.

To help increase the value of Canadian based horses, adjustments to Claiming Prices at Woodbine Mohawk Park, Flamboro Downs and The Raceway at Western Fair District will be implemented.

The below changes will be in effect at all three racetracks:

  • All Conditioned Claimers in $15,000 to $18,000 races will become $20,000 Claimers.
  • The lowest Claiming Price will rise from $7,000 to $8,000.

The following increases will be implemented at Woodbine Mohawk Park:

  • Non-Winners $2,000 Last 3 – Optional $15,000 Claiming becomes Optional $20,000 Claiming.
  • Non-Winners $4,000 Last 5 – Optional $20,000 Claiming becomes Optional $25,000 Claiming.
  • Non-Winners $8,000 Last 5 – Optional $45,000 Claiming becomes Optional $50,000 Claiming.
  • Non-Winners $14,000 Last 5 – Optional $65,000 Claiming becomes Optional $70,000 Claiming.
  • Non-Winners $20,000 Last 5 – Optional $80,000 Claiming becomes Optional $90,000 Claiming.
  • Claiming $12,000-$16,000 becomes $14,000-$18,000
  • Claiming $17,000-$22,000 becomes $19,000-$24,000
  • Claiming $25,000-$35,000 becomes $30,000-$40,000
  • Mares $8,000-$10,000 becomes $10,000-$12,000
  • Mares Claiming $12,000-$15,000 becomes $14,000-$18,000

These changes will not take effect until December 1, 2023.
